Who qualifies
Grant eligibility — the essentials
Most Irish homeowners qualify for at least one grant. Here are the key criteria to be aware of.
Home age
Your home must have been built and occupied before 2011 for most insulation and heat pump grants (2021 for solar PV and EV charger grants).
Location
The property must be located in the Republic of Ireland.
Registered contractor
Work must be carried out by an SEAI-registered contractor for the grant to be valid.
Not previously grant-aided
You cannot claim twice for the same measure on the same home under the same scheme.
BER assessment
A Building Energy Rating (BER) assessment is required after works to confirm the improvement.

For individual SEAI grants, yes — you pay the installer and SEAI refunds the grant after the work and BER are complete. With a One Stop Shop, the grant is deducted from your invoice upfront so you only pay the balance.
Can I combine multiple grants?
Yes. Many homeowners combine insulation, a heat pump and solar in one project. Going through a One Stop Shop for a deeper retrofit can unlock a higher combined grant total (up to €12,500+).
How long does the process take?
